St. Pete Women's March Day of Action

We had a great time promoting Sunrise at the 2018 St. Pete Women’s March Day of Action held at Williams Park on January 21st. It was great meeting so many other organizations who are advocating against injustice and bringing awareness to social causes within our communities! We were joined by a number of grassroots activists and organizers such as, Project No Labels, Dream Defenders, NextGen, Organize Florida Pasco, Pasco NOW and Indivisible Pasco, to name a few. Donations were also given to help provide financial hurricane relief to our Sister Islands: Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands, and Florida Keys. The mission of Women’s March is to harness the political power of diverse women and their

Sunrise Attends Light Up the Night

On January 20th Sunrise advocates, Catherine Raley and Maria Torres, attended the Light Up the Night (LUTN) event in Wesley Chapel. The 5k run and 1 mile walk ended at Wiregrass Mall where various organizations brought awareness to the prevalence of human trafficking, and educated the public of the warning signs of trafficked victims. Live music, food vendors, and kid friendly activities encouraged positive vibes and a candlelight ceremony ended the night. For more information about Light Up the Night please visit their website

Philanthropic Children of 2017

The upcoming generation of children are proving to be a generous and kind-minded group. Sunrise has received numerous gifts this year as a result of kids designating their birthdays to the children in shelter or providing goody boxes containing nice toiletries or collecting gift cards from their neighbors. One young lady has started a home business of making wonderful sugar scrubs and then selling them to local customers. She then donates the proceeds to the shelter! This is an amazing testimony to their soft hearts and determination to make this a better world. Thanks to their parents for allowing them to impact their community in such a wonderful way.
