Now Hiring Shelter Advocates

Do you want to make a difference in the lives of survivors? Come work at the shelter and provides crisis intervention and advocacy and empowerment for survivors of domestic violence and/or sexual assault. Peace Breakfast Secures National Speaker

Melissa Dohme was stabbed more than 30 times by her ex-boyfriend and survived to tell the story. Since her recovery, she has begun working as an advocate with the local Hands Across the Bay in Tampa, and is inspiring survivors all over the country by recently launching a national speaking campaign. Her story has been shared in several major newspapers, news programs, and now will be shared with us at the 14th Annual Peace Breakfast on December 9th. Sunrise Peace Breakfast is a giving event, and attendees will be asked to make a financial contribution. Happy October! In celebration of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we are participating in The Allstate Foundation’s annual fundraising challenge. As we compete with other domestic violence organizations, we are joined together by our mutual mission to prevent domestic and sexual violence in our community. As contestants, we have the opportunity to win grand prize donations for raising the most money and achieving weekly benchmarks /OR / The top fundraisers have the opportunity to win grand prize cash donations totaling $350,000 from The Allstate Foundation. Revolution Roller Derby helps spread awareness

Thanks to Revolution Roller Derby for hosting Sunrise at the 2017 Bike Fest in downtown New Port Richey this past weekend. They helped us raise some money and more importantly, spread the word about Sunrise and the services offered.

Color Me Abstract Collecting for the Shelter

The local organization Color Me Abstract has partnered with the local studio, Go Craft Yourself to host an event for Domestic Violence Awareness Month on October 14th. The community is invited to attend the event at the Go Craft Yourself location and learn about healthy relationships with a focus on domestic violence. Color Me Abstract is providing: -Free childcare (with pre-registration) -Free Crafts -Free Art Gallery As part of the event, they will be collecting towels and bedding to donate to our shelter. Flapjack Fundraiser: Bring Your Appetite!

In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM), Sunrise of Pasco County, Inc. will be holding its 2nd annual pancake breakfast fundraiser. The event will be held on October 14, 2017 at the Wesley Chapel Applebee’s from 8am-10am. Each breakfast includes three pancakes, two sausage links, and a drink of choice. Tickets are $7.00 per person, and the event is open to the public. All proceeds from the breakfast will be allocated to Sunrise shelter for programs and services, which are all offered free of charge.
