About Green Dot
Green Dot is an approach to violence prevention that is based on the premise that violence can be reduced within a community with the help of bystanders. Sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking are serious issues on college campuses across the country and Saint Leo University is no exception.

Saint Leo, however, has committed to addressing these issues with the help of Green Dot! The violence will stop only if each of us does our part. I hope that you join us in learning about Green Dot and the many ways you can get involved.
How Green Dot works
Green Dot is a bystander intervention program that focuses on changing the behaviors of the community’s citizens to promote culture change. This program aims to end three major forms of power-based personal violence – dating/domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking.
Each instance where when an individual choses to use his/her words or actions to harm another individual is defined as a red dot.
This program intends to equip community members with the tools to prevent or intervene in instances of violence. Therefore, a green dot is an instance when someone performs an act, speaks a word, or makes a choice that opposes the culture of power based personal violence.
Little by little, the goal of Green Dot is to outnumber the red dots in our community and to effectively change the campus culture of Saint Leo University.
